On Thursday, Israel’s National Public Transportation Authority conducted discussions, drills, and strategic simulations to prepare for a potential war. These exercises were organized in response to recent regional developments and the possibility of escalating conflict with Hezbollah or an attack from Iran.
The war game was led by Moshe Ben Zaken, Director General of the Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety, and involved key figures, including Deputy Minister Rabbi Uri Makleb, members of the National Authority for Public Transportation, Home Front Command representatives, and executives from all major public transport companies. The participants reviewed the national security landscape and discussed various scenarios and their potential impact on transportation.
Key topics included improving logistics, advancing technologies, organizing manpower, training professionals, and coordinating with multiple agencies to ensure that public transport services remain functional and efficient even in severe conflict situations. The discussions also focused on solutions for maintaining staffing levels during a war and expanding essential industries to support the economy.
