The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has suspended MLA Koneti Adimoolam following serious sexual assault allegations from a female party leader. Adimoolam, who represents the Satyavedu constituency, faced suspension after a video emerged showing him behaving inappropriately with a woman at a hotel. The woman alleges that Adimoolam sent her vulgar messages and assaulted her during a hotel visit.

TDP State President Palla Srinivasa Rao announced Adimoolam’s suspension after the allegations surfaced. During a press conference in Tirupati, the woman presented video evidence captured with a pen camera. She had earlier written to TDP President and CM N. Chandrababu Naidu and TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh, requesting Adimoolam’s expulsion from the party.

The woman disclosed that she had opposed Adimoolam’s candidacy in the recent Assembly elections due to his defection from the YSR Congress Party. Despite her objections, she supported him during the campaign as the party chose to nominate him. She claims Adimoolam made unwanted advances, assaulted her in Tirupati, and threatened her and her family if she spoke out.

Adimoolam has denied the allegations, labeling the video as fabricated and alleging it is part of a scheme by his rivals within the party.
