Jog falls entry price increase, two hours for viewing

Entry fees to view Joga Falls have been raised by the Jog Management Authority, leading to dissatisfaction among tourists and locals. The fee for bus entry has been increased from Rs 150 to Rs 200, and the fee for cars has risen from Rs 50 to Rs 80. The individual entry fee has also been increased from Rs 10 to Rs 20.
The local community is questioning why the fees have been hiked during the development phase of Joga. The new pricing structure has also introduced a two-hour limit on the duration for viewing the waterfall. Previously, visitors could spend more time enjoying the view, but now they must leave after two hours.
The increases, which range from 30% to 50%, have been criticized. The new charges have been displayed on boards installed by the Jog Management Authority. The reasoning behind the fee hikes is not clearly explained, leaving many to wonder why the cost to see a natural attraction has gone up.
During the rainy season, fog often obscures the view of the falls, making it difficult to see them clearly. The experience is also affected by strong winds, which can disrupt visibility.
