The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported moderate to intense rainfall across Delhi-NCR and surrounding areas for several hours, cautioning against potential waterlogging and traffic disruptions.
In a statement on its official channels, the IMD warned, moderate to intense rainfall is expected in parts of Delhi-NCR and nearby regions. The advisory highlighted concerns such as slippery roads, reduced visibility, and localized waterlogging in low-lying areas. It advised residents to avoid routes prone to waterlogging and stay updated on weather alerts to manage potential traffic congestion. Additionally, the IMD forecasted heavy rainfall for Haryana and Chandigarh, predicting isolated heavy to very heavy showers on July 3, 2024. Specifically, moderate to intense rainfall was anticipated in Central and South Delhi, as well as neighboring Gurugram and Faridabad over the next two hours.
In weather updates, several regions across India, including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh, reported heavy rainfall. IMD data indicated significant rainfall figures in various districts, underscoring the widespread impact of the monsoon across the country.
