Activists of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) held a protest demanding the implementation of the Sarojini Mahishi Report to provide more employment opportunities for Kannadigas in government, private and public sector organizations of Karnataka.
The protesters, who marched from Rani Channamma Circle to the Deputy Commissioner’s office staged a sit-in protest on the premises, demanding that the state govt should implement the revised report of Sarojini Mahishi immediately.

Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Gudaganatti, President of the KRV district unit said that Kannadigas should get employment on priority in the state. The Kannada Development Authority should be given more powers to effectively implement the law framed by the state government during the period of former CM Ramakrishna Hegde.

Mahadev Talwar, the state coordinator of the KRV said that those who have settled in Karnataka for 15 years should be treated as Kannadigas and a Kannada writing test should be organised for them while employing them. The recognition given to organizations that violate the rules for employing Kannadigas should be revoked and the land provided to them by the govt should be taken back, he demanded.
KRV leaders Suresh Gavannavar, Ganesh Rokhade and Satish Gudadavar were present during the protest.
