A 2,000-acre international airport will be built in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced on Thursday. The airport will accommodate 30 million passengers annually. The announcement was made to the state Assembly, stating that the airport will support the growth of Hosur and the economic development of Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts.

Infrastructure projects are being planned in Hosur to make it a hub for economic growth. Hosur’s master plan is being finalized. Investments in electronics and electric vehicles have been attracted to Hosur in recent years.

State Industries and Investment Minister T.R.B. Rajaa stated that the new airport would enhance connectivity and spur economic growth in Dharmapuri, Salem, and parts of Bengaluru. The airport is expected to promote a twin-city environment with Bengaluru due to Hosur’s favorable weather.

Additionally, an IT park is being constructed, making Hosur a hub for manufacturing, electronics, logistics, and the production of cars and electric vehicles.
