Gurugram
Nayab Singh Saini, the CM of Haryana, unveiled fifty new electric cars on Thursday that would be used for door-to-door waste collection. With the addition of these new cars, the total has surpassed 500. Notably, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) is making significant efforts to enhance the door-to-door waste collection system and the cleanliness system.
In addition, 19 HCS officials have been tasked with keeping an eye on the cleanliness system throughout each of the corporation area’s wards.
The government’s Solid Waste Environmental Excellence Performance (SWEEP) program monitors the disposal of waste and the cleaning system.
In order to ensure regular rubbish collection, secondary garbage collection stations like Khandsa and Vatika Chowk have also been transformed to zero garbage points.
Not only will the CM’s electric cars expedite residential garbage pickup, but they will also contribute to environmental preservation. In addition, the CM launched vending machines for cloth bags as part of the initiative to rid Gurugram of carry bags made of polythene and single-use plastic.
These devices will shortly be placed in a number of Gurugram public spaces. By using UPI or a Rs. 10 coin, citizens can obtain cloth bags, which encourages them to shun single-use plastics.
Additionally, the CM opened sanitary pad vending devices that will both give fresh pads and enable the disposal of used ones.
