7 New Agricultural Training Centers In The State: N Chaluvarayaswamy

New agricultural training centers will be established in seven districts of the state this year, as announced by Agriculture Minister N. Chaluvarayaswamy during a divisional meeting at Suvarna Soudha Hall. Emphasis is placed on farmer training and capacity development. The districts where these centers will be set up include Vijayanagara, Yadgir, Gadag, Kolar, Chamarajanagar, Ramanagara, and Udupi. Quality control and training are prioritized within the department, with plans to accredit laboratories by NABL. Upgrading of the Bailahongala Paratantra Biological Laboratory is also planned.
Minister Chaluvarayaswamy directed the adoption of new technology for producing Trichogramma paratantra organisms, crucial for sugarcane pest control. He instructed an increase in production and supply over the next six months. The minister emphasized local production of sowing seeds and fertilizers, ensuring adequate supply.
Officials were urged to coordinate effectively and responsibly. The focus includes informing farmers about government schemes, new technologies, and enhancing awareness about crop insurance and agricultural productivity. Minister Chaluvarayaswamy stressed the need for value addition in agriculture to make it a profitable profession.
Present at the meeting were Agriculture Commissioner YS Patil, Watershed Commissioner Girish, Director Padmaiah Nayak, Agriculture Director Dr. GT Putra, Deputy Director Rasa Venkataramana Reddy, and others.
