Agriculture Minister N Chaluvarayaswamy said that the state government is always ready to revive the encouragement of agricultural innovations.
He held a meeting in his office at Vikasa Soudha regarding the revival of the paddy parks established in the state and connecting with the farmers in partnership with the department for start-up enterprises operating in cereals.
In the meeting, the status of agricultural innovations, the challenges they face, the Agriculture Minister heard the opinion of the startup entrepreneurs about the government assistance needed to strengthen the cereal-based industries.
Despite the high demand for ‘Siri Millets’, there is a shortage of supply. So Chaluvarayaswamy instructed the officials to make a suitable plan to increase the production from 30 thousand to 50 thousand hectares along with continuing the incentive fund scheme.
Think about arranging direct purchase of entrepreneurs with farmers. He said that entrepreneurs should be connected with FPOs across the state. The Minister promised that besides organizing a 2-day cereal fair in each district, the state would also provide assistance to set up stalls in food product exhibitions and sales fairs held abroad.
He assured that appropriate steps will be taken to provide assistance through CFTRI for food processing to Dhirgavadi along with technology expansion for millet food producers.
Through the Department of Agriculture, work will soon be done to connect agricultural innovations and producers, suppliers and government assistance will always be available for market promotion. The Agriculture Minister said that this will also benefit the farmers.
