Bengaluru residents are reeling from a massive scam involving Jiu Homes, where hundreds of individuals seeking rental homes have been swindled out of lakhs of rupees. The company, operating under false pretenses, deceived renters like Asami Ahmed Ali Baig, who believed they had leased properties legitimately only to discover they were victims of fraud.
Reports indicate that Jiu Homes duped between 300 to 400 people across Hennur and other areas, absconding after collecting substantial sums of money under the guise of leasing properties. In response, affected individuals have staged a silent protest near Gandhi Park on M.G. Road, demanding justice and restitution.
The situation has left both homeowners and tenants devastated, with property owners seeking the return of their houses and flats valued in crores, while renters are clamoring for refunds. Frustrated by the lack of police action, complainants allege difficulties in filing FIRs, with authorities reportedly redirecting cases to the Central Crime Branch (CCB).
