Akhilesh Yadav, the chief of the Samajwadi Party (SP), expressed his gratitude to the people of Uttar Pradesh, promising not to disappoint them and to uphold the trust they placed in the party. Via his official social media account, Yadav thanked the voters and highlighted the victory as a testament to the unity of various communities fighting together to uphold the values of the Constitution.

The SP’s remarkable performance in the recent general election saw those secure 37 seats in Uttar Pradesh, making them the third-largest party in the 18th Lok Sabha. Alongside the SP’s success, the Congress also secured 6 seats, limiting the BJP to 33 seats in the state. Yadav emphasized that this victory belonged to the defenders of the Constitution, showcasing the power of the people over those in authority. SP spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chaand extended gratitude to the people of UP and the nation, attributing the party’s success to their support, particularly from minorities, backward communities, Dalits, and farmers.

He revealed that the party would outline its future plans by the evening, aiming to navigate the political landscape following the election results. Chaand also took a dig at the BJP, highlighting their failure to address public concerns while praising the SP for focusing on pertinent issues that resonated with the electorate, including farmers’ struggles and economic challenges. He credited the victory to the support garnered from farmers, the underprivileged, and the youth protesting against government policies.
