Home Minister and District In-charge Minister Dr. G. Parameshwar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting Karnataka’s land, water, and culture without compromising with any organization, including the Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES). He was speaking to reporters after hoisting the Kannada and national flags at the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations organized by the Tumakuru District Administration on Saturday.

Referring to a recent incident in Belagavi where a police officer was seen taking a photograph with an MES leader, Dr. Parameshwar stated that strict action would be taken against anyone — whether an officer or an ordinary citizen — who acts against the state’s interests or disrespects Kannada.

He also highlighted that the Karnataka government has provided financial grants to Kannada associations and cultural organizations in countries like Bahrain, Ukraine, and the United States to promote Kannada language and culture abroad. As a result, Kannada Rajyotsava is now being celebrated grandly in many foreign nations, showcasing Karnataka’s global cultural presence.

Speaking on local issues, Dr. Parameshwar clarified that the land allotted for constructing the Congress Bhavan in Tumakuru belongs to the government and falls under the municipal corporation. Those disputing the ownership can present their documents in court, but there is currently no stay on the project.

He further mentioned that the government is addressing the shortage of doctors in state hospitals, with the Chief Minister directing officials to expedite the recruitment process.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will visit Tumakuru on November 7 to inaugurate the new Mother and Child Hospital, Cancer Hospital, and Nursing College, built at a cost of over ₹42 crore. The event also featured a parade by police, NCC, and NSS contingents, attended by officials, legislators, and Kannada activists.
