Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav criticized the Congress and opposition parties, stating that reservations based on religion are unacceptable. During the Lok Sabha election campaign, the BJP accused the Congress of wanting to provide reservations on religious grounds. The Congress, however, clarified that it offers reservations to certain minority groups based on social and economic backwardness, not religion.
Talking to sources, CM Yadav emphasized that nobody will tolerate religion-based reservations, aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s stance on OBC reservations. He called such reservations a violation of the Constitution and criticized the Congress for allegedly supporting them. Yadav highlighted that Babasaheb Ambedkar opposed religion-based reservations and accused the Congress and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee of defying this principle. He assured that the BJP would implement reservations according to the central government’s model.
Praising Prime Minister Modi, Yadav noted his contributions to development, the economy, defense, and the space sector. He declared that the nation is Modimay and credited Modi for making the BJP the world’s largest political party.
Regarding opposition claims, Yadav dismissed predictions that the BJP would lose in Varanasi and ridiculed the Congress’s assertion that it would win 10-15 seats in Madhya Pradesh, stating they won’t win any. In the 2019 elections, the BJP secured 28 out of 29 seats in the state.
