Mangaluru

Former Minister KS Eshwarappa called for the removal of Minister of ST Welfare B Nagendra from the cabinet by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in light of the suicide of an officer of the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation (KMVSTDC). Eshwarappa recalled his own resignation following a contractor’s suicide during his tenure in the BJP government, questioning the perceived double standard. He urged Siddaramaiah to conduct an inquiry and allow Nagendra to continue in the cabinet if found innocent.

Eshwarappa highlighted the need for accountability, suggesting that if there is evidence linking Nagendra to the officer’s suicide, he should resign and an investigation should be initiated. He also criticized the Congress government for recent incidents, including the attack on a police station in Channagiri and the offering of namaz on a street in Mangaluru. Eshwarappa emphasized the importance of addressing issues promptly and ensuring justice for the victims and their families.
