Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav characterized the ongoing Lok Sabha elections as a national movement to uphold the Constitution and protect reservations. He urged party members to join this cause to shape the country’s destiny.

In a post on X addressed to ‘samajwadis,’ Yadav stressed the historical significance of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He described it as pivotal for safeguarding constitutional values and socialist principles, urging active participation on the last day of campaigning for the fourth phase of voting.

Yadav, contesting from the Kannauj Lok Sabha constituency, highlighted the election’s importance in upholding constitutional values, socialism, reservations, and dignity.

He urged ‘samajwadis’ not to succumb to fear or pressure from those in power and called on party office bearers to fully support INDIA bloc candidates in upcoming phases.

Highlighting that the INDIA bloc’s victory would honor struggles for socialist principles and pay tribute to leaders like B R Ambedkar and Ram Manohar Lohia, Yadav encouraged a robust voter turnout.

He cautioned against voter suppression and advised reporting such incidents to the Election Commission or contacting fellow ‘samajwadi’ supporters. He highlighted the importance of voting with caution, echoing the slogan matdaan bhi, saavdhaan bhi (voting with caution).
