An actor passed away after collapsing on stage while performing in a play in Bengaluru. The incident occurred on Friday night during a performance of the Kurukshetra play near Satanur in Yalahanka taluk.
The deceased, identified as N. Munikempanna, a resident of Aradeshhalli, Devanahalli taluk, was portraying the character of Shakuni in the play when he suddenly collapsed around 1:30 am. Despite immediate efforts to assist him, he could not be revived.
It is suspected that the actor may have suffered a heart attack. His final moments, including his dialogue on stage before his collapse, were captured on video.
Munikempanna, as he was known, was not only an actor but also a retired lecturer, writer, and artist. He had served as the President of the 28th Kannada Sahitya Sammelan, Devanahalli.
Munikempanna’s last rites was took place on Saturday at his hometown of Aradeshhalli at three o’clock in the afternoon.
