Novak Djokovic has parted ways with his fitness coach, Marco Panichi, after seven years of working together. This comes on the heels of his split with former coach Goran Ivanisevic in March. Djokovic thanked Panichi on social media, recalling their achievements and camaraderie during their time together.
Grande Marco, what amazing years we have had. We reached the summit, won titles, and broke records, Djokovic wrote. But most of all, he added that he has enjoyed the ‘ordinary’ days of training in and out of the gym. He highlighted the countless hours of hard work and laughter that kept him motivated, adding, Grazie Romanista for all the energy, effort, and time you invested. Much love, he said, and that he will be seeing him soon in Roma.
Djokovic recently won the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award for a record-tying fifth time after a stellar 2023 season where he won three of the four Grand Slams and the Nitto ATP Finals. So far this year, he has an 11-4 record and reached the semifinals in Monte-Carlo. Djokovic withdrew from the Madrid Masters 1000 to carefully manage his schedule.
