In a recent incident, two players from the national women’s cricket team were seriously injured in a road accident. This occurred after they broke curfew during a training camp for the ongoing white-ball series against the West Indies, as disclosed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The PCB, through its chairman Mohsin Naqvi, informed reporters about the disciplinary actions taken against the players involved. It was revealed that five to six players had left the camp without informing the management and ended up in an accident in Karachi between April 2 and April 8.

Due to the severity of the injuries sustained by these players, the PCB appointed a full-time senior police officer to ensure strict adherence to timings and security protocols. Naqvi mentioned that the incident had affected the team’s performance in the ODI series against the West Indies, with one of the key players, Fatima Sana, also getting injured.

However, details regarding the nature and extent of Sana’s injury were not provided. Despite the setback, Sana participated in all three ODI matches and the first T20I match.

Additionally, Naqvi stated that the PCB is currently in talks with potential candidates for the position of head coach for the Pakistan women’s team, including a high-profile foreign coach.
