Observer of the Shivamogga Lok Sabha Constituency, Poonam said that the election officials should strictly take all necessary steps for smooth and peaceful polling in the district.
She spoke at a meeting organized with Assistant Returning Officers of polling stations and other election-designated officers in connection with Lok Sabha General Elections 2024 at the Deputy Commissioner’s office hall.
After receiving information from the nodal officers of the teams about their work area in the meeting, she instructed all the Assistant Returning Officers and nodal officers of other teams to perform their duties neatly for smooth polling.
Every Assistant Returning Officer should personally visit their respective constituencies to realize the sensitivity of the constituencies and take appropriate measures. Careful verification/inspection should be carried out at each check post.
Regarding voting, all the information including EVM, mock voting, EVM data, battery, and user button usage is in the SOP and instructed the concerned officials to read the SOP adequately.
Expenditure observer Meenakshi Singh said that careful inspection should be done at all check posts. He said that if there is a need for additional officers and staff for any check post, they should be informed.
Deputy Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde said that all Assistant Returning Officers, FST, SST, Nodal Officers of other teams and committees should perform election duty adequately.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Snehal Sudhakar Lokhande, Superintendent of Police Mithun Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Siddalinga Reddy, Assistant Commissioners Satyanarayana, Yathish, Assistant Returning Officers, Election Officers were present.
