In the summer with temperature recorded between 40 and 42 degrees, the government is supplying water to the people through tankers; a team of youths is watering the animals, birds and plants in the forest area through a tanker, which is helping humanity.
Members of Kishkindha Yuva Charan Balaga of Gangavati and Clean and Green Foser team of Sri Ramanagara are voluntarily arranging water and food for animals and birds in Kuntoji village of Karatagi taluk in forest department reserved area. The members who visited the forest area filled hundreds of earthen plates with water to quench the thirst of insects and birds.
Mohammad Rafi, former president of taluk panchayat and coordinator of Clean and Green Foser team, said that in the past, hundreds of tanks were constructed and water was provided for animals and birds. But tourists and youths who come to drink alcohol in the evening have vandalized the tanks. Therefore, we are keeping the tank again after noticing that the animal parties are in distress, he said.
A student from Chikkarampur who has made a name for herself by planting thousands of saplings D. Sindhu said that environmental care is the responsibility of all of us. A tree for a house, a forest for a town, a forest for a hobli, if the environment is preserved in this way, the next generation will get a healthy environment.
