It was like a trip down memory lane : Nicolas Cage

Hollywood superstar Nicolas Cage is set to star in the upcoming action-comedy ‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’, co-starring Pedro Pascal, Neil Patrick Harris, Tiffany Haddish among others. The film directed by Tom Gormican, sees a fictionalised version of the actor, forced to live up to his own legend.
Talking about playing his own fictionalized version and the reason behind accepting this role, Cage said in an exclusive statement, “What really put the hook in me about this movie was the idea of playing Nicky, and the interplay between the two characters really excited me.”
He added, “Nicky will not rest until his alter ego tries to become a movie star again. It was like a trip down memory lane, rediscovering my energy from years ago.”
Further comparing the character to himself, Cage said, “Nicky’s energy is very different from Nick’s or from Nicolas Cage’s. Nicky is loud, bold, and unapologetic. He still believes in himself and has his entire world ahead of him. Nicky questions and pushes his older self, sometimes brutally.”
Channeling his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones, the film will witness Cage take on the role of a lifetime- as Nicolas Cage.
‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’, presented by Lionsgate India, arrives in theaters on 22nd April 2022.
