MLA Prabhu Chavan visited the site of the new “Praja Soudha” Taluk Administrative Center in Kamalnagar taluk on Sunday and reviewed the ongoing preparations. The project, which aims to strengthen local administration, has been sanctioned by the government following persistent efforts by the MLA.
During his inspection, officials briefed MLA Chavan on the project status. Tehsildar Amit Kumar Kulkarni and Assistant Executive Engineer of the Karnataka Housing Board, Shashikantha, provided detailed explanations regarding the construction work. Chavan emphasized the importance of establishing a modern administrative center close to the people and shared that he personally met the Chief Minister, Revenue Minister, and other officials multiple times to push for the project.
The government has sanctioned ₹8.60 crores for the construction of a two-storey building, while MLA Chavan had requested ₹15 crores. The site, previously a concern, was resolved after Rajkumar Police Patil donated 2.5 acres of land. Chavan instructed that the work be executed by the original contractor without subcontracts and completed within the stipulated timeframe with quality assurance. He also highlighted that road access and other necessary facilities should be prioritized, offering additional funds if required.
Bhoomi Puja for the new Praja Soudha will be performed on October 28 at 11 a.m., with District in-charge Minister Eshwar Khandre attending. MLA Chavan appealed to the public of Kamalnagar to participate in large numbers to mark the occasion successfully.
Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Hanamantharao Kautage, along with local leaders including Basavaraj Patil, Shivanand Wadde, Shivu Zulfe, Nagesh Patre, Kiran Patil, Rangarao Jadhav, Rajkumar Gaikwad, Raju Alabide, Bunty Rampure, and Zakher Sheikh, were present during the inspection.
The project is expected to enhance administrative efficiency and serve as a modern hub for government services for the people of Kamalnagar and surrounding areas.
