Actor Prakash Raj revealed that he is being pursued by three political parties for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls not based on his ideology but because he is a critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at the Kerala Literature Festival, the award-winning actor expressed his reluctance to enter into this political pursuit, emphasizing that political parties are not approaching him for his ideas but merely because he is known for being a critic of the Prime Minister.
Raj, who contested unsuccessfully as an Independent candidate from Bengaluru Central in the 2019 general elections, shared his reservations about getting involved in politics solely as a Modi basher. He criticized the current state of political parties, stating that they have lost their voice and truth, leading to challenges in finding suitable candidates for elections.
When asked if he hates Prime Minister Modi, Prakash Raj clarified that he doesn’t harbor personal animosity and is instead urging the Prime Minister to fulfill his responsibilities, emphasizing that he is a taxpayer addressing the leader he voted for.
In defending his critical posts on social media, the actor asserted that his remarks reflect the collective voice of the people, not just his personal opinion. He emphasized the importance of holding those in power accountable through questioning, irrespective of one’s voting choices.
