CM Basavaraja Bommai is defending the tainter minister KS Eshwarappa by telling that he has not done anything wrong. Eshwarappa has been accused in the suicide by contractor Santosh Patil. By protecting Eshwarappa, Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai is committing a heinous crime, said KPCC President DK Shivakumar.
He expressed his reactions to media persons after participating in the whole night protect arranged at Vidhana Soudha.
The contractor Santosh has sent wtsapp message alleging that Minister Eshwarappa and his personal assistant’s demand for 40 percent is the reason for his suicide. In addition, Santosh’s wife, mother and president of the panchayat have also given the same statement as eye witnesses. Brother of the dead has mentioned this in the police complaint.
However, before conducting any enquiry on the incidence, Chief Minister has said that Eshwarappa has not done any wrong. In this context, an impartial enquiry about the incidence will not be possible. The statement of chief minister will have impact n the police investigation. Bommai has worked as Home minister. Doesn’t he know that such statements must not be given? He is misleading the facts of the facts and hence he is committing a heinous crime, Shivakumar alleged.
Eventhough the brother of Santosh has mentioned torture about 40 per cent bribe, why the FIR has not been registered against the accused on Prevention of Corruption Act? Shivakumar questioned.
We are not demanding for resignation of Eshwarappa. Legal action should be taken in this case also as in other similar cases. Minister Eshwarappa must be arrested. Until then our fight will continue.
Whether Eshwarappa submits his resignation or not is a separate issue. He has not acted as per his words. He is like a owner of industry of lies. In the beginning he has lied that he does not know who Santosh is. Afterwards the photos of Eshwarappa meeting Santosh were cast in the media.
I have not given the work order, said Eshwarappa. But the gram panchayat says that he is the witness for Eshwarappa telling Santosh to carry out the works.
Like this he utters lies hundred times. In one of his programmes, he has given a message to his party activists to get the work done by telling lies. How can anyone expect truth from such a person? Shivakumar questioned.
We are not protesting for his resignation. Corruption charges have been made against him. As per this a case has to be registered and he has to be arrested. It is our demand that the enquiry must be conducted by a High Court Judge. In this regard our protest will continue, Shivakumar said.
Let Ramesh Jarkhiholi do whatever he wants, we are ready to face it. Let him remove anything and show, the people know what all he had removed, Shivakumar said.
The people of the country are hurt By BJP
This is not the opinion of party or personal affair, the people of the country are hurt with the administration of BJP, said KPCC President DK Shivakumar.
He was addressing a joint press meet at Vidhana Soudha.
There are 2 lakh registered contractors in the state. There are many contractors who are not registered in the rural areas. Their position is similar to this.
On June 7 last year Kempanna had written a letter to the Prime Minister, everyone knows what has happened afterwards. If the Prime Minister had given his thought towards this, the matter would not have gone to this extent.
Santosh Patil had also written a letter and given a statement to the media explain and drawn the attention of government on how the BJP activist is facing problems.
