Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai slammed the Congress’s demands for the arrest of minister KS Eshwarappa over corruption allegations. CM Bommai said: “Was KJ George arrested by the Karnataka Police or the CBI? Police will take a call after their investigation.
Bommai was referring to the 2016 MK Ganapathy suicide case. MK Ganapathy, who was serving as deputy superintendent of police, committed suicide in July 2016 but had recorded his statement before the suicide. He accused KJ George and two other senior officers of mental harassment in a video.
“We have to allow the police to do their work. The Congress can’t be the judge, jury and executioner. Let the police do their job. Why are they [Congress] afraid? The truth will come out,” Bommai said.
