Order to revise Saptapadi scheme: Shashikala Jolle

Must read

The Karnataka government has launched a free “Saptapadi mass wedding” scheme to help the poor and middle class families get into financial trouble. The specialty of the project is the provision of bridal and groom gifts to the bride and groom, as well as a system of outlets for relatives on both sides.

Speaking on this, Shashikala Jolle said that Covid Pandemic has affected on Saptapadi Mass Wedding scheme. However we need to get back this and have ordered to revise and review the scheme.  Jolle had notified authorities on Wednesday.

Free wedding planning at any temples

Against this backdrop, it is proposed to conduct a free Mass Wedding Ceremony by following the Kovid rules at selected A-grade temples of April and May, 2022.

Responding to this, officials have been instructed to reinstate the Saptapadhi programs that have been suspended due to Covid, said Muzarai, Hajj and Waqf minister Shashikala Jolle. Against this backdrop, a free mass wedding is being held at selected temples on April 28, 2022 and May 11 and 25, 2022. We hope to take advantage of this project in large numbers.
