Tel Aviv

As a condition for the release of hostages, Hamas has made a significant demand, requiring Israel to cease the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) during the four-day humanitarian pause in Gaza. Qatari mediators revealed that this was one of the major requests put forward by Hamas’s military commander, Yahya Sinwar, who is among the most wanted leaders in Israel. The humanitarian pause, agreed upon early Wednesday morning between Hamas and Israel, resulted from mediating talks facilitated by Qatar and the US. Informed sources indicate that, as part of the agreement, Israel will release Palestinians currently detained in Israeli jails. However, Israel has made it clear that murder accused individuals will not be released, and most of the released prisoners will be women and children.
