In a collaborative effort between the Navy and DRDO, guided flight trials of the first indigenously developed naval anti-ship missile were undertaken from a Seaking 42B helicopter on Tuesday. The Navy, in a post on X from its official handle, highlighted the significance of this firing, marking a substantial stride toward achieving self-reliance in niche missile technology, particularly in seeker and guidance technologies. The missile had undergone its first successful test in May 2022, showcasing various innovative technologies, including a domestically developed launcher designed for the helicopter. The missile’s guidance system incorporates cutting-edge navigation technology and integrated avionics. This successful trial underscores India’s progress in advancing its indigenous missile capabilities.
