Dunzo Shifts From Google Workspace To Zoho For Cost Reduction

New Delhi

Quick-grocery delivery provider Dunzo has reportedly migrated all employee accounts from Google Workspace to Zoho to cut down on costs. The move, triggered by nonpayment to the cloud consultant, led to the overnight suspension of Dunzo’s Google Workspace access, affecting services such as Gmail, Meet, Sites, Calendar, and more. The decision is expected to reduce costs by at least a third for Dunzo, which has been facing financial constraints. The sudden suspension of Google Workspace resulted in the loss of email history, ongoing conversations with vendors, planning documents, and other critical data. A company spokesperson confirmed the migration, describing it as a regular business decision. Despite initial challenges, the spokesperson mentioned that all issues have been resolved. Google, a major investor in Dunzo, charges a minimum of Rs 1,600 per user per month for its enterprise plan offerings. In contrast, Zoho offers a similar arrangement for only Rs 489 per user per month. The shift to Zoho aligns with Dunzo’s recent efforts to reduce its workforce and scale down operations. Earlier this month, Dunzo reported a loss of Rs 1,800 crore in FY23, a 288 percent increase from the previous year. The company has also experienced the departure of several top-level executives and delays in salary payments for some employees.
