Commemorating the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ on the occasion of 148th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Air Force Technical College (AFTC) Bengaluru organised a ‘Run for Unity’ based on the theme ‘Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat’ on 31 Oct 2023. The run was flagged off by Air Vice Marshal PS Nair, Chief Technical Training Officer (CTTO), HQ Training Command, IAF at 0600hrs. More than 900 defence personnel and civilians including ladies and children participated in the 10Km run. The event also marked the culmination of ongoing ‘Fit India Freedom Run 4.0’ in the College. After the conduct of the event, Air Commodore Ratnesh Gupta, Commandant AFTC addressed the gathering and appreciated the high spirit shown by the participants.Thereafter, Air Vice Marshal PS Nair distributed prizes to the winners of the run. The AFTC has been organizing a series of events on the backdrop of ‘Fit India Freedom Run 4.0’ since 16 Oct 2023 as an awareness campaign by holding the paramount significance of cleanliness for creating a healthy lifestyle among citizens.
