A high-level committee has been formed to create public awareness and submit a comprehensive report on the measures to be taken to prevent the sale of products and items made from any part of wild animals, including tiger claws, tiger teeth.
The Minister of Forests, Wildlife and Environment Ishwara Khandre has issued a clear instruction to the Deputy Chief Secretary of the department in this regard and directed to form a committee under the leadership of the Deputy Principal Chief Conservator of Forests-APCCF (Wildlife).
He directed the committee to submit a report within a week about the cases (complaints) registered since the Wildlife Protection Act came into force, the action taken under the law and the steps to be taken in the cases currently registered and being registered.
Varthur Santhosh, who was a contestant in the Big Boss reality show, was arrested by the forest officials for wearing a locket with a tiger claw. After that, many dignitaries were also receiving complaints about the possession of tiger claws, and demands were also heard to completely control the collection, sale, stock of wild animals and to take action against the culprits. In this context, the Mnister has instructed to submit a report.
All are equal before the law of this land. It is an offense to illegally possess products of any organ of a wild animal. He also informed in Bidar that if there is a complaint about this, the department will investigate and take action.
