Driver Attacked For Honking During Ganesha Immersion, Vehicle Pelted With Stones

In a shocking incident, a driver of a Bolero vehicle was attacked and pelted with stones by the organisers near Challamma temple in Kudlur village of Channapatna taluk. Manoj of Mengahalli village was the driver who was attacked.

Manoj used to transport vegetables from farmers from neighbouring villages to a market in Bengaluru every night in a vehicle. Similarly, on Sunday night too, he was carrying tomatoes. In Kadlur village, the youths wearing DJs were on their way to Ganesha immersion. Manoj had honked to leave the road as the youths were dancing on the road. Angered by this, some people allegedly attacked him and pelted stones at the vehicle.

The injured driver received first aid at  Government Hospital and lodged a complaint with Channapatna rural police station. I honked while the youth were dancing on the road wearing a DJ. Some people present there attacked me saying that this was hampering them. The victim alleged that the front glass of the vehicle was broken.
