A horrifying incident unfolded in Ramanagara as a man stabbed a 17-year-old PU II student, forcefully abducted her, and left her bleeding. However, in a surprising turn of events, he admitted her to a private hospital due to her profuse bleeding. Law enforcement acted swiftly, apprehending the perpetrator within hours of the incident. The arrested individual, Chetan (28), hails from Dalimba village in Kanakapura taluk. Allegedly, he had been attempting to coerce the victim, also from Dalimba village and a student at Government Women’s College in Ramanagara, into a relationship. His advances were met with rejection by the young woman, who is currently residing in Rayaradoddi, Ramanagara. In an apparent fit of rage over her refusal, Chetan resorted to violence. He attacked the young student just outside the college premises, stabbing her in the arm and shoulder. Shockingly, he then forcibly placed her in a hired Toyota Innova and sped away from the scene. Recognizing the gravity of the situation and perhaps stricken by remorse, Chetan made an unexpected decision. He admitted the injured student to the Ramakrishna Hospital in Ramanagara, where she is currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit. The swift response of the Ramanagara Town police ensured that the ordeal came to an end rapidly. Officers promptly visited the college, gathering information and evidence to facilitate the apprehension of the accused. Within a few hours, the man was taken into custody, ensuring that justice was expedited for the traumatized student. This unsettling incident serves as a reminder of the imperative for safety measures to be bolstered, especially in and around educational institutions.
