Belagavi
Due to ongoing transfers, two Block Educational Officer (BEO) posts remain vacant, one each in Belagavi and Chikodi educational district for the past over one and two months respectively. The absence of full-fledged BEOs has caused administrative hindrances.
Ravindra T Baligar, Kittur BEO in Belagavi educational district transferred in the month of July and Prabhavati Patil, Raibag BEO in Chikodi educational district transferred in the beginning of August.
However Gayatri Ajjanavarar, Coordinator of Block Resource Centre in Kittur is acting as the in-charge BEO for Kittur office and Shantaram Jogale, Physical Education Coordinator of Nipani taluk has been given the additional responsibility of the Raibag BEO’s office.
There are 131 schools under Kittur block and 549 Schools under Raibag block in operation. The teachers and staff who come to the BEO’s office for official work are getting inconvenienced by this arrangement, as it is reportedly a burden for the officers to hold two posts at a time.
Teachers and staff are saying that if there is any important decision to take, a report has to be submitted to the DDPI and permission has been obtained. Hence full-fledged BEOs are necessary for the smooth functioning of educational activities.
Mohankumar Hanchate, Deputy Director Of School Education and Literacy, Chikodi district said, we have drawn the government’s attention to the need for a full-time education officer for Raibag block and the appointment is expected soon.
