Minister of Forests, Ecology and Environment Eshwar Khandre asserted that it is the responsibility of all of us to save the reputation of Bengaluru, the capital of the state, which was known as an air-conditioned city, a garden city.

He said that the land will also be protected.He said that after he became the minister, realizing the ill effects of global warming and climate change, he resolved to plant and nurture 5 crore saplings in the state this year to increase the coverage of the state’s green zone. He also said that more than three and a half crore saplings have been planted in the state since July 1 during the Vanamahotsav and subsequent programs, and to ensure that these saplings are being geo-tagged and audited, he said. He asserted that forests and greenery should remain and progress should also take place.
