This coming Dasara is turning out to be quite the festive opportunity for Kannada moviegoers as MG Srinivas and Co. announce the release date of their much-awaited film. The film we refer to, of course, is Ghost, a slick heist thriller starring Shiva Rajkumar who shares the screen with veteran actors such as Anupam Kher, Jayaram and others for the very first time in his career. Archana Jois, Prashant Narayanan and others, too, are part of the cast.
Earlier today, on the auspicious occasion of the Varamahalakshmi festival, MG Srinivas took to social media to announce that his high-stakes thriller will arrive in theatres this Dasara, on October 19. The film will release in five different languages, including Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi.
Of course, the upcoming film is only a part of the much larger puzzle that Srini is putting together. In a recent conversation with OTTplay, the director revealed that Ghost, which will be a two-part film, will have its storyline coinciding with that of the writer-director’s other franchise-in-the-making, Birbal, at some point. In fact, the Birbal character (played by Srini himself) is set to make a special appearance in the first instalment of Ghost, which is scheduled to release this October 19. With Ghost now set to meet Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B at the box office, audiences do have two exciting, equally contrasting films in the offing. It would be interesting to see how this unlikely pair fares together after all.
