CHITRADURGA
IMA District President Dr. L. Palakshayya said young people should actively donate blood and support society through this noble service. Blood cannot be produced artificially in factories and can only be received through donation from one person to another.
He was speaking at a blood donation camp organized by the Indian Red Cross Society, Indian Medical Association and Kotenad Welfare Foundation in Chitradurga on Tuesday as part of World Blood Donor Day programs.
Dr. Palakshayya explained that one unit of donated blood can help save the lives of three people after processing and highlighted the importance of regular blood donations. He praised the efforts of the Red Cross Society for helping reduce blood shortages across the country.
The event created awareness with messages like Donate blood save a life and My blood my contribution to encourage more citizens to participate. Several regular donors were honored with certificates and mementos for their valuable contribution. Hundreds of youngsters voluntarily donated blood during the camp.
The program was attended by District Youth Officer Dhananjay Jagatap, Red Cross Society President Gayatri Shivaram, Vice President Arun Kumar, Secretary Mazhar Ullah, Treasurer Viresh and other officials. The organizers said such camps help build a healthier community and inspire more people to take responsibility for saving lives through voluntary blood donation. The initiative also promoted social unity.
