District administration launched the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Karnataka by beginning the enumeration process at writer Banu Mushtaq’s residence in Pension Mohalla area of Hassan on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner K.S. Latha Kumari and other officials visited the home along with booth-level officers and provided enumeration forms to the family members. The writer and her husband completed the forms with required details and submitted them to the officials.
Banu Mushtaq said she was initially concerned about the SIR procedure and the documents needed for the process. She explained that the officers guided her properly and made the work easy. She said the process required basic documents including Aadhaar card and voter identity card.
The Deputy Commissioner said the enumeration phase had started successfully and forms were collected from the family. She added that booth-level officers will upload the collected information through the official application after verification.
Latha Kumari stated that the process is simple and officers have received proper training for the exercise. She encouraged citizens across the district to cooperate and complete the revision work without confusion.
The administration said the SIR process will help maintain accurate voter records by adding eligible voters and correcting necessary details. Officials requested people to keep their documents ready and participate actively in strengthening democracy.
Banu Mushtaq also appealed to authorities to ensure that all citizens receive similar support during the exercise. The district administration assured that trained officials would assist people throughout the process and make the voter list reliable and transparent.
