SIT resumes operation at Banglegudde in Dharmasthala case

Belthangady

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has once again launched operational activity at Banglegudde in Belthangady taluk as part of its ongoing probe into the Dharmasthala-related case, according to local reports.

Officials are said to have returned to the forested area to continue inspection and verification work linked to earlier phases of the investigation. Banglegudde has previously been a key site in the case, where SIT teams conducted multiple rounds of searches and excavations during earlier stages of the probe.

The Dharmasthala case has seen repeated field operations in the region, with investigators examining suspected locations based on witness statements and collected leads. Earlier search drives at Banglegudde had resulted in the recovery of skeletal remains and other materials, which were sent for forensic examination.

The renewed activity suggests that investigators are still pursuing additional leads or re-verifying earlier findings as part of the continuing investigation. The SIT has not issued detailed public statements on the latest operation at the time of reporting.

Banglegudde, located near the Nethravathi bathing ghat area in Dharmasthala, has been central to the investigation due to repeated claims and subsequent search operations conducted there over the past year.

The Dharmasthala case itself has drawn significant public attention in Karnataka, with multiple rounds of investigation, court proceedings, and forensic analysis still underway in different aspects of the case.

Authorities are expected to release further updates once the latest phase of inspection is completed and any new findings are assessed.
