Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has welcomed the resounding victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance in the Assam Assembly elections, calling it a strong endorsement of development-focused governance and people-centric leadership.

Reacting to the election results, Sonowal, the Member of Parliament from Dibrugarh, extended his congratulations to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for successfully leading the alliance to a landslide win. He also expressed gratitude to the people of Assam for delivering what he described as a historic mandate in favor of the BJP. According to Sonowal, the outcome reflects the widespread acceptance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development agenda across the state.
He emphasized that the scale of the victory demonstrates the deep trust placed by citizens in the so-called double-engine government, highlighting its consistent focus on inclusive growth, infrastructure development, and effective welfare delivery. Sonowal stated that the renewed mandate would further accelerate Assam’s progress and strengthen governance initiatives aimed at long-term stability and prosperity.
Calling the result more than just an electoral triumph, Sonowal described it as a responsibility to serve with greater dedication and commitment. He underlined the importance of collective effort in sustaining the momentum of development and assured that the NDA government would continue prioritizing economic growth, youth empowerment, infrastructure expansion, and social harmony across the state.
