Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has warned that companies will not receive government incentives if they fail to design products in India. Speaking at a press meet, he said firms must improve design, quality, and engineering efforts under the scheme. He expressed concern over slow progress and said funds may be stopped if expectations are not met. The government wants companies to focus beyond basic manufacturing. Approved projects may also face delays in payments. The minister stressed that strong design skills and trained talent are key to building a reliable and competitive electronics industry in India.
