It is essential for everyone to make a firm resolve to build a healthy society by adopting and following the ideals of great people like Renukacharya, the founder of Veerashaiva religion, in their lives, said Sri Shivananda Shivacharya Swami, Matadipathi of Chikkakallabalu Sansthan.
He was speaking at the 11th Jagadguru Renukacharya Jayanti programme organised by Hoskote Taluk Veerashaiva Agamika Purohita and Archaka Sangha at Sri Veerammavara Mutt in the town.
. For life to be meaningful, religion must be implemented faithfully in life. The principles and doctrines of Veerashaiva religion, which are acceptable to everyone and do not hurt anyone, are a model for the entire world and are an ideal for many other religions. The opportunity to worship the desired linga is provided only in Veerashaiva religion. Although the messages of Basavanna and Renukacharya are the same, it is regrettable that confusion is being created due to lack of historical knowledge. Renukacharya is a great person who traveled all over the world and worked hard to establish the religion.
Veerashaiva Seva Samaj General Secretary Paramesh and Veerashaiva Lingayat Basava Samiti President HB Manjunath said that cooperation will be provided for the construction of a temple for Renukacharya in the town.
Taluk Veerashaiva Agamika Purohita and Archaka Sangha President Nataraja Shastri, Nagendra Shastri, Manjunath Shastri, former Municipal Council President C Rudraradhya, Shivakumar, office bearers of various Veerashaiva organisations, and disciples participated.
Earlier, a procession of the Renukacharya Utsava Murthy was also held on the main streets of the town with the Veeragase and Karadi kunitha.
It is the primary duty of parents to create awareness among the youth about religious observance, customs and ideas. He said that Veerashaiva organizations should also work in this direction, Sri Shivananda Shivacharya Swami, Matadipathi of Chikkakallabalu Sansthan said.
The swamiji appreciated the cooperation of various Veerashaiva organisations in the town in arranging religious activities without discrimination.
