Intro
The extension allows customers arriving near closing to send Speed Post, parcels, and international mail conveniently on working days
Gadag
The Gadag Divisional Superintendent of Posts, S.S. Shirahatti, announced that the booking period for Speed Post, parcels, and other letters has been extended to benefit customers. Under this new arrangement, postal items can now be booked up to 30 minutes before the end of office working hours at all post offices.
This extension ensures that customers who arrive near closing time can still send their mail without inconvenience. The facility is available for Speed Post, parcels, and international mail services on all working days.
For added convenience, the Indian Postal Department offers the Customer Self Service Portal (https://app.indiapost.gov.in/customer-selfservice/login), where people can book postal items, track shipments, file complaints, and access detailed service information online. This digital platform allows customers to manage postal services from home, reducing the need to visit post offices in person.
Additionally, the “Dak Seva” mobile app has been launched to make postal services more accessible. The app allows booking, tracking, complaint registration, and service details directly on smartphones. Citizens can download the app using the QR code available on the India Post website.
S.S. Shirahatti urged the public to make full use of these facilities and contact their nearest divisional post office for guidance. The department’s efforts aim to make postal services faster, easier, and more customer-friendly for the people of Gadag.
