BJP alleged Mamata Banerjee misled citizens by protesting enumeration yet quietly submitting her form on final day.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of displaying double standards and misleading the public over her stance on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enumeration process. The party claimed that despite Banerjee’s repeated assertions that she would not file her enumeration form as a mark of protest, she eventually submitted it on the last day of the process.
BJP Information Technology Cell Chief Amit Malviya criticised the Chief Minister, stating that she had once again attempted to deceive voters. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has once again shown her instinct to mislead. She submitted her duly filled and signed Enumeration Form on the very last day, yet just hours earlier from a rally in Krishnanagar, she falsely claimed she would not submit it at all, he said.
This is not the first time Banerjee has claimed she would boycott the enumeration forms. Earlier, when the revision exercise began on November 4, she had declared she would refrain from filing her form until all voters in the state had completed theirs. She alleged that the Election Commission of India (ECI) had rushed the revision exercise, prompting her symbolic protest.
Malviya, in a social media post, alleged that after months of spreading misinformation and attempting to create confusion about the SIR process, the Chief Minister ultimately submitted her form on December 11, the deadline for West Bengal, in order to remain a valid voter. He further claimed that voters in the state ignored her appeals, with nearly 100% of them completing the process. While the ECI extended the enumeration deadline for five states and one Union Territory, West Bengal’s deadline remained unchanged.
