Health Minister Updates on Cough Syrup Testing Status

Bengaluru

“390 samples of cough syrup medicines are currently under testing. Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao stated that, so far, no negative results have been reported.

Speaking to the media on Sunday regarding the cough syrup ban, he confirmed that all 390 samples are being analyzed and none have returned adverse findings. The standards of all drug manufacturers are being reassessed. He emphasized that there is no need for panic and that medicines must be produced strictly according to regulations. He assured that all checks are being thoroughly conducted.

On the matter of MLA Munirathna Hydrarama, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has organized programs across various locations. Rao clarified that there is no requirement for printed invitations, and anyone can attend. He remarked that if Shivakumar participates, it is purely for public engagement and not for personal prestige.

Responding to Shivakumar’s comment that there will be no cabinet reshuffle, Rao said he also has no information on the matter. The Chief Minister invited them for dinner, but it is incorrect to link this invitation to any reshuffle. He added that the party President has confirmed this as well. While he is not opposing a reshuffle, the decision lies with the party high command, and rumors cannot be addressed individually.

Regarding the BJP’s November revolution discussions, Rao criticized the party for lacking leadership and being focused only on caste and religion. Despite injustices in Karnataka, BJP MPs fail to intervene. He noted ongoing internal discussions about a leadership change and lobbying to remove the party President.”
