India’s Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy have held on to their top spots in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings for batters and bowlers, despite tough competition during the Asia Cup.
Varun remained No.1 among bowlers after a tight spell of 0-25 against Pakistan, helping control the run rate. He also gained 14 rating points. Teammate Hardik Pandya moved up six spots to 60th in the bowling rankings and continues to lead the all-rounders’ list.
Abhishek Sharma stayed at the top in batting after scoring a vital 38 against Oman and a match-winning 74 to chase down Pakistan’s 171. Tilak Varma, who finished that chase with 30 not out, climbed to third among batters.
Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed jumped 12 places to reach fourth in the bowling rankings after strong performances against Sri Lanka and the UAE. Haris Rauf also moved up nine spots to 28th. Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman re-entered the top 10.
In the batting list, Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan rose to 24th, while Hussain Talat made a massive leap to joint 234th. Among all-rounders, Faheem Ashraf and Wanindu Hasaranga also improved their positions after strong showings with the ball.
