46 Villages Added to HDUDA Limits: Shakir Sanadi

Hubballi

Hubballi-Dharwad Urban Development Authority (HDUDA) Chairman Shakir Sanadi has announced that 46 more villages have now been brought under the jurisdiction of HUDA, in addition to the 46 villages already included earlier.

Addressing a press conference, he explained that the Local Planning Area (LPA) was initially notified in 1988. This year, another 46 villages have been added to the LPA, thereby expanding its jurisdiction. Of these, 13 villages fall under Hubballi taluk, 6 under Kalaghatagi taluk, and 27 under Dharwad taluk.

Sanadi said that the inclusion of these villages is part of a larger plan to ensure systematic development of the twin cities of Hubballi-Dharwad. The state government has already given its approval for this expansion.

All newly added villages will also be connected with a ring road, while priority will be given to improving roads and basic infrastructure facilities.

He pointed out that in some urban areas, survey numbers do not match between municipal and HUDA limits. Such cases will be given special consideration and resolved.

Sanadi further stated that since taking charge, he has made efforts to curb illegal layouts. Although results have been mixed, the number of new unauthorized layouts has reduced. The government has now framed stricter laws to tackle this issue.

He also mentioned that HUDA is planning both industrial and urban development projects, covering about 500 acres under the LPA in Dharwad, Hubballi, and Kundagol areas. Meanwhile, several development works under the Amrut scheme are in progress and are expected to be completed by December-end.
