MLA Yasir Ahmad Khan Pathana addressed concerns regarding healthcare services at the Taluk-level Health Protection Committee meeting held at Shiggavi Government Hospital. He stated that the government has transferred long-serving doctors and new ones will soon fill the vacancies. Emphasizing the importance of equitable patient care, he instructed hospital staff to treat all patients, especially poor rural laborers, with dedication and compassion to ensure recovery.

Pathana noted that four new doctors have already joined, with four more posts needing recruitment. He assured discussions with the Health Minister to fill these positions promptly. He also praised contractual hospital employees for their hard work and promised timely payment of their honorarium in coordination with relevant authorities. To enhance security, two Home Guard personnel are being deployed to safeguard hospital property and staff.

Addressing a grievance from Renuka Ganapathi, who runs the hospital canteen and has been providing meals to patients for 18 months with an outstanding bill of ₹6 lakh, the MLA acted swiftly. She complained about staff demanding bribes and expressed distress over managing her daughter’s upcoming wedding. MLA Pathana immediately instructed hospital authorities to clear her dues and warned of strict action against any staff involved in bribery.

He reiterated that healthcare is sacred, and all patients must be treated fairly, while staff accountability and support for service providers will be ensured.
