Raichur
The Social and Educational Survey-2025 by the State Backward Classes Commission began on Monday. The enumerators were sent for the census after providing the final training and kits at all the taluk centers of the district.
A morning meeting was held for the enumerators of Raichur taluk at the Pandit Siddarama Jambaldinni Zilla Ranga Mandir in Raichur to clear up the confusion of the enumerators. Tahsildar Suresh Verma distributed kits containing manuals, bags, caps and self-certification letters to the enumerators. Then the enumerators walked towards the houses.
The purpose of the survey is to collect information about the social, educational and economic conditions of all caste communities through statistics. The enumerators should work carefully. If there are any confusions, they should contact the master trainers to clear up the confusion, the Tahsildar advised.
“The questionnaire has 60 questions. Questions on information such as business, employment, educational qualifications, skills, training needs, income, family fixed and inheritable assets, religion, caste, sub-caste, clan occupation etc. should be asked with restraint. The survey should be conducted using ration card or Aadhaar number as an authentication document,” it was informed.
One enumerator has been assigned for the survey of 150 houses. One enumerator supervisor has been assigned for 10 blocks. According to the District Statistical Department, there are 4,75,000 families in the district. A total of 3178 enumerators and 340 supervisors are involved in the survey work in the district.
With the help of EDSS, the meter readers of the Energy Department went door to door, generated UHIDs through geo-tagging, pasted stickers and entered the numbers. “If the children of Scheduled Castes or Backward Classes have got admission in educational institutions under the reservation quota, it means that they have got reservation facility,” clarified Tahsildar Suresh Verma.
