The trailer of Rishab Shetty’s highly awaited film Kantara Chapter 1 was released on Monday by Hombale Films, marking the first day of Navratri. The trailer opens with a child searching for answers about his father’s disappearance, gradually introducing viewers to a legendary tale.
The story shows a village suffering under the cruelty of a king named Kulashekara. Their prayers are answered when an angel of God appears to protect humanity. Rishab Shetty takes on the role of this fierce protector, fighting against injustice and standing strong with the villagers. Alongside action and faith, the trailer also reveals tender moments of romance between Rishab and Rukmini.
The trailer builds toward an intense climax, featuring a violent battle that symbolizes the clash between nature and the supernatural. The makers described it as a story that must be “experienced,” not just told.
One of the most anticipated films of the year, Kantara Chapter 1 returns to the roots of the saga shown in the original film. To enhance the legacy, the filmmakers created a massive war sequence involving national and international experts. Over 500 trained fighters and nearly 3,000 people participated, filmed across a specially built town covering 25 acres. The shoot lasted 45–50 days, making it one of Indian cinema’s largest action sequences ever.
Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, the film will release worldwide on October 2, 2025. It will be available in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English, raising excitement among audiences everywhere.
